socially distanced outdoor drive-in theater is probably a smart compromise if you have to be in person (though it's not clear why this had to be)
the pattern on Elon's shirt is also the pattern that's the motif for battery day and is the pattern of layers that lay up and form the conductive path, in a kind of fractal way, into the innards of the battery. kind of structurally almost biological very cool, & very hard to dopic.twitter.com/LNq2RiloKL
maybe writing a longer piece on Tesla's battery day, there are a *lot* of things to cover here and it could be quite consequential. the new cell and new cell architecture is *very, very* different and could be an incredible core to build technology aroundpic.twitter.com/t24cp9FEcc

they're saying because of demand they'll be basically all sold out and won't be able to provide access to other companies for the batteries, and that other architectures basically won't be able to compete, which might be. There may always be other places to get advantages.

Most exciting to me is the firming up of the $25k vehicle plan. Also, that presentation went by fast and I doubt I caught everything. Did you happen to note any claim about increased cycles? They should make a compact with Cybertruck styling and call it in the Cyber Mini.
No, they were careful not to do this, for which I applaud them, they have to do a lot more testing probably. The work on the silica anode and the new thermal architecture is very much related to lifespan; could go either way, but maybe a good improvement with development
Is it clear that this is intended to result in the proverbial million-mile battery eventually, or is that a different project? FWIW, I noticed that when Elon gave his somewhat incoherent response to the V2G question, he didn't mention the cycle problem.
this seems like a different project, there was a slide that suggested formulations including iron would be good for long cycle life applications
