Compartmentalization is a useful thing. Grieve AND fight. Shift your attention as needed. We HAVE to think about what happens next. We have to prepare for the political fight for our lives, the protests, the potential of violence and repression. We don't have a choice.

This is not a unique thing. When you lose a parent or a spouse, you HAVE to plan the funeral, deal with the finances, settle all the unsettled business, even through tears. When you lose a buddy in war, you can't just lie down and stop. You must grieve while you fight.
