the death rate is like 20x higher than the flu long covid is much more impactful over the long haul than the flu the risk of mutations with the same asymptomatic / presymptomatic spread trait is severe, lethality will not be attenuated to the same degree

the CFR right now is 3.3% flu is 0.1% or less when people die, they usually have *some* comorbidities. i'm guessing that you've fallen for the "only 6% of people who died with covid died *of* covid" which is basically fake news anti vaxxers are likely to resist a vaccine
