Success! 3d printed the lost telescope cap cover! With vanity logo too
The tolerance is a little off, so it’s not quite a snug interference fit. Wondering whether to reprint or use this with a bit of tape or something to line it for a snug fit.pic.twitter.com/WE4mbl0zt1

Okay with cooling it's loose enough it falls out. Anyone know how to measure a tiny gap so I can adjust the dimensions for a better fit? Also how much of an interference is good for PLA?

I do have feeler gauges, but it only goes as low as 0.25mm and that gauge is just a bit too thick. So I'm guessing the gap is ~0.2mm and I need to maybe add 0.3-0.5mm to the diameter to get the fithttps://twitter.com/neilggrupert/status/1299839515331162112 …

in situations like this i just like to use a little bit of tape, something moderately compliant

I'm reprinting, just to see if I have enough control over tolerances. Adding 0.5 mm to 2 diameters, and the Cura slice settings say my print res is 0.2188mm (fast). So it'll be interesting... my interference fit range is within tolerance range of print. I can go as fine as 0.0437
