basically almost everybody in the USA owes somebody but they can't act like it. "Debt" and "Assets" exceed "Net Worth," which is super fascinating. seems to me collectively, on average, you could say that things do own people, rather than the other way around.

Not sure I follow. Quick check of the numbers suggests it's 1 = 2.2-1.2. Are you saying debts (1.2) exceeding net worth (1) by 20% is particularly bad?

You’re right, the order of magnitude discrepancy doesn’t hold up in the mean, only the median households. thanks for getting me to check
