Any one know of a good quote from any Apollo era engineers, mission managers, astronauts talking about the safety of the Apollo Program in general & in hindsight? I'm trying to find good quotes comparing the safety of Orion vs Apollo & talking about what exactly has changed.

I should clarify here. Something specific along the lines of "We were using parachutes that we didn't know had a high likelihood of failing" or "I can't believe we used titanium when it was exposed to LOX" or something along those lines. Unknown risks that were later understood

I interviewed Neil on a similar question — of all the things that could go wrong, what did he worry about most? It was a failure of the VPA for the LM Ascent Engine, stranding them on the moon. He had nightmares about that for two years prior to launch. https://flic.kr/p/foNHkM
