this is propaganda where the fuck is this person
Read the article. It tells you exactly where he is. Cambridge, Mass. His expenses are split between him & 4 roommates. Realistic numbers assuming you're willing to live w/ 4 other ppl. I've done that. Saves money, but comes w/ plenty of drama & headaches. Not for everybody.
I’m really surprised at how many people didn’t read the article.
didn't have to read the article to guess that "rent" was some kind of fib of a situation
That’s the problem. How was it a fib? This article talks about *his* expenses. It makes sense if most of his expenses are split four ways.
specifically the editorial around the tweet of the graph is a fib it's hilariously super unrealistic for a "typical 25 year old" to have $100k in pay & $825/month in rent, and when you think about what rent is you're not thinking about having 4 roommates. lol at the face of itpic.twitter.com/3SW5yhHEyw
The tweet & article don't claim to be about a typical 25 year old tho. Ppl are reacting to it as though it does, but it's just an article about 1 specific person & makes no claim to be anything else.
the level of my critique extends to the editorial, not the article, written be a journalist who probably doesn't have any say in how it's presented the editorial of cnbc, exposuing a promoting pixels to the world of "look a balanced budget" with rent split 4 ways *is propaganda*pic.twitter.com/JmX5sqRHSL
