Uber, but for volunteer pickup and dropoff of ballots at polling stations? Is this illegal or something?

Would you want to trust the drivers?

good question; there's probably a software layer where you make a ledger for at least the number of the ballots, verified at drop off. this is an annoying idea to have because it wouldn't be necessary if USPS were allowed to do its job

Most likely, but the real crime is that 20 years after the hanging chads election we don't have universally good and operationally sound and secure voting systems. Why has technology become an opportunity to break voting systems and not a way to make them secure and accessable?

yeah idk if it's actually possible to establish a bipartisan new thing that is trusted as much as the usps. maybe you'd need two different systems i am hating this idea more and more

The legality varies State by State. Every Coloradan gets a ballot in the mail. They can mail it or drop it in a ballot box. It’s legal to give your ballot to someone else but persons are limited to turning in 10 ballots.

In Arizona it is. You cannot just drop off tons of ballots. The law requires that you can only drop off yours and those that reside in your immediate household. However, you could still take the people to drop them off. That is ok.

I think that qualifies for the definition of ballot harvesting, which is specifically illegal in some places
