isn’t the problem that he’s legally not in control of the purse, that this is technically congress’ job? it’s important in the american system that there is that separation of powers. afaict it might just work out like, these are marching orders, now you, congress, go do it

Yeah, this is correct. He doesn't have any constitutional authority to do it. It's a gambit to deface Congress publicly. Democrats are going to fall *right* for the trap. But also this "trap" will destroy us all, because the elite are literally playing with our food money now lol

The curves seem to be falling down everywhere despite vastly differing conditions. Sweden reported 0 deaths the other day despite their total complacency, NYC never spiked again despite all the protests and mass transit.

sweden reacted after it was failing in its initial stance new york likewise has had a dramatic reduction in the sort of shared superspreader type events but the virus will be worse in the fall and winter like it always is for repiratories (also heat and moisture do dmg the virus)

I don't recall Sweden ever changing course, though I know Britain did

it appears you are right, while they did have some level of responce that they would dispute as complacency (they stopped large gatherings, had secondary schools distance learning) advised a reduction in travel, advised WFH and had a *functional* test/trave/track, didn’t shiftpic.twitter.com/lo1hSfcShp

light and heat deactivate this virus just like people said it is just not as extreme especially in tight air conditioned quarters because AC recruiculates air. sweden is less central for travel than places like italy and new york in feb march people aren’t going there
