But I believe in a completely funded public school system with small classes and excellent facilities and full accessibility for everyone along with the choice to homeschool

We homeschooled each of our children for several years and it worked out fine. Both ended up with college scholarships. It can be a good option.

Fantastic. Now talk to the households that may or may not be single parent, that may or may not have each adult working more than one job, that may or may not have adults who speak the language of the dominant culture, who may or may not have a culture of reading to their kids...

there should be thousands of such efforts across the country which could ultimately provide a network, or social connections, or materials, or projects, to enrich or support public school efforts.

Exactly - every school should have an extensive outdoor program, sports, extra curricular activities, food, nutrition, financial literacy, digital and most importantly community. And than can be a school of 3 or a school of 3000. But we can reimagine a lot of what we do

Talk to public school teachers. They have many ideas along these lines. However the current battle is to keep even the current level of education funded. You have to win that battle first.

I believe in the US it is all state / municipal? In Canada it is all provincial funding except on reservation schools which are federal (which is the serious mess we really really ducked up in terms of funding). So the Ontario government cut tons of funding and we had strikes

Hopefully she won't, especially after the November election. But it's not an all or nothing proposition. She's been chipping away at public education and will continue to do so until she's stopped.
