a lot of the most radical positions on what was going to happen have come true. most were derided as apocalyptic... and yet it's not like everything is actually on fire. seems to me that people just really don't like thinking through substantial consequences

The missed opportunity was when there were single and double figure cases here and even triple figures in the US. Traceability was possible then. With greater numbers it becomes unfeasible. My next for neighbor has a behavioural science PhD and works as a tracer. 1/2

Says the same thing. Now that numbers are back down here, it's possible once more that we might do that. The fly in the ointment now is lobbying from industry groups and airlines who want to keep businesses open. Difficult choices it seems. (2/2)
