It occurs to me that I've been thinking about the upcoming flu season all wrong. This is such a "duh" thing I'm sure many ppl already get this, so bear w/ me. I've been thinking of it as "imagine a bad flu season, and then add COVID to it." This is surely too pessimistic.

All the interventions we're doing for COVID -- distancing, masks, & especially the virtual school openings -- will also have a big impact on flu season. In fact, if nobody goes back to school in-person, will we even have a real flu season?

So I think instead of a flu season this year, we'll have a COVID wave with some amount of flu added onto it. What am I missing?
