if people knew the elon i knew, they'd know a sensitive, funny, soul that only wanted to be taken half-seriously. instead... everyday... i'm seeing 'allies' basically hate on a hallucinated person that doesn't exist really friends think i've just lost objectivity, which is fair

We choose how to project our identities. Everybody fucks up, but the character he projects seems pretty consistent. It is sort of infantilizing to decide on his behalf that he is not actually who he says he is.

And even if you somehow didn't respect him enough to care, I generally reject this idea that we can live as one person and be somebody else "in reality" or "underneath." We are whoever we live as every day. He is minimally both of these people if he lives as both.
