Could GPT-3 output get primed to fit onto specific content so exactly that it could be found to be infringing on copyrighted content?

Along those same lines, for those trying to tell stories with it, how much of the output that people like might be attributed to training that occurred in its coverage of various fan fiction sites?

it seems like the key to the argument would be whether or not it represents fair use. The text sample would also have to be quite close to show that you have standing. I don’t think that our existing legal arguments really capture the situation

Non-copyrighted copying: It's likely pretty easy to get biblical content. If other output might be that close for copyrighted content, it might not be fair use unless fair use gets redefined. It's also unlikely to be caught unless people are looking very hard.

Right now, if significant flavor text for one of the gigantic open world computer games was copied and pasted from minor fantasy books with some simple name swaps to cover their tracks, who would really know or how would they be caught?

you’re right it would be very difficult to catch them. textual laundering

It is hard to catch them now, but if there is a central player behind various textual launderings, it makes a class action strategy legible. This increases the chance that nuisance lawyers will try something that will make them some money and make work more difficult for others.

Really? I only see it as low probability to the extent that it is dependent on enough companies using GPT-3 types tools for commercial applications.
