this concept of herd immunity is a myth. there’s no guarantee that we get a collective response that keeps the disease at a low level of infection. we don’t know the level of disease memory long-term. and there’s mutation
That’s true. Yet, test samples stil use the ‘first generation’ of the virus, and its still accurate. This means it souls not mutate (significantly) within 6 months... Not enough research was done te be entirely sure, but if this is true, this concept of herd immunity could work.
We don’t have enough information (yet), and so we must not speculate too much. We might inspire/trigger wrong approaches... and that’s not my goal! I think we both know how to deal with this issue, but it’s the internet - so...
