On the one hand, this is a horrible dumpster fire. On the other, I think that temperature checks are better than no temperature checks. You're right that it won't eliminate all cases. But even if it eliminates 10% of cases, that seems like a win.

I'm not going to forgive them for opening the parks. But I'm not sure that temperature checks should be written off as an incremental benefit in anything that NEEDS to be open. But on the whole, Not Opening > Opening, especially in Florida.

Just one more thought about this: I actually don't know how effective temp checks are. My comment above probably takes a stronger stance than the data I have at hand merits. But I'd want to see the data before coming down on one side or the other. That data must be available?

Estimates are like ~50% (+- like 20%!) of spread could be from asymptomatic, subsymptomatic, and presymptomatic individuals.
Of the *detected* cases (biased towards symptomatic) not all patients had fever.
