A pandemic wont last that long. It goes through a population until the ones that can deal with it survive.

Im not referring to immunity. At the current rate, id see 80% of the population being exposed within one year or so, no? If thats the case then mortality cannot be the same on future waves after the initial exposure of the population unless there are mutations that alter it.

With 80% of the population exposed and it crossing species, mutation is inevitable, also, there's truly no guarantee that immunity lasts, indeed there is evidence it may not, it attacks and stresses the immune system it cloaks it attacks many systems it hides perhaps in testes...

If you’re not already familiar, see the work by Desforges et al on HCoV persistence in the central nervous system. SARS was found to infect bone marrow. ADE is also an issue. I wouldn’t bank on lower mortality as this progresses, even without accounting for sequelae.

Just a guy. Also the PCR positive, culture negative we’re seeing in CoV2 has been seen before in bat origin filoviruses. They enter a state of low replication persistence. My out on-a-limb theory is it’s related to bat hibernation. https://twitter.com/adamhamdy/status/1275424645630566402?s=21 …https://twitter.com/adamhamdy/status/1275424645630566402 …
Adam Hamdy added,
Adam Hamdy @adamhamdy8. Other bat viruses have been shown to persist in this low replication state in humans. A survey of filovirus persistence found RT-PCR positivity but culture negativity (sound familiar?) https://journals.plos.org/plosntds/article?id=10.1371/journal.pntd.0004475 …Show this thread2 replies 2 retweets 3 likes
