I think this is putting too many expectations on humans. We have never had any control over the path of respiratory viruses. Many of us believe we do now but we don't. Maybe we will in the future. Asian countries have more influence over its path because they've had to learn.

We got that because it never reached breakout proportion, only 8,098 cases. For that you should be looking at China for covid19 because there were that many cases in Wuhan alone in the first few weeks. We've never been able to put a respiratory back in the bag once it's out.

Now that it's out, trying to put it back in the bag once it's on multiple continents is not realistic. Yes we should all wear masks indoors but I don't think we can do much besides that and sitting and waiting for a vaccine.

I disagree! I exponentially disagree! With coordination we could get Rt << 1 and it will dwindle to near nothing until we can get a Vaccine larger the outbreak the more likely we are to get even worse mutants! Smallpox was eradicated it is respiratory https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smallpox#Transmission …

Well executed global response where the countries in better shape help the weaker ones, and the government provides funding for PPE, research, testing, and into the direct hands of the poor.

In times of conflict and global power structure change have we ever had a well executed global response?
