Early on in this crisis, when some of the people tweeting the most loudly about it were VC types (like @balajis) they made the argument that they intuitively had a feel for exponential growth better than most people. And I think that view has been vindicated.

Joe has actually been pretty good about admitting that, as he did here. Also, I think I did get the general thing right, but there were parts I didn’t. Most importantly: I thought people would wait for the virus to abate before forming huge crowds. Though they may not persist.

To be clear there are plenty of journos who are beyond salvation on COVID. Particularly the tech journos who destroyed their reputation in front of everyone by printing ridiculous falsehoods and never retracting. Joe however has repented and will be spared by Satoshi’s grace
