but that's a mistake, because the death follows the disease by 3 - 5 weeks (or more if it's a long term systemic fatality e.g. lung heart, bloodvessel or kidney damage) what you're probably wanting is to factor out the increased testing, so you should look at positivity for this

At first it grew in China. It hit a few western countries but there weren't huge outbreaks. When it hit Iran and Italy that's when it broke out. New strain (maybe), and our guard was down. It hit the central economies like UK and USA from there. The reaction was in time, now...
