I’m genuinely happy for you and I’m glad that you found it an inclusive community as a woman. That said, I’m also 100% sure you are white. Really wonder what your experience with SSC would have been like if you weren’t. I’d encourage you to examine the racism in SSC more closely

some assholes are there, yes, but have you read the content of themotte? very little of it is bigoted. it's mainly a containment zone for topics that incite controversy most of those topics are not about race. suggest sorting by top: this month, to see the actual posts

one of the splinter groups having some vocal racists does not make the broader diaspora hateful. to be crude: I don't judge progressive communities by the number of their sexual assault scandals

It’s not a splinter group? It was part of the main community until outside pressure forced Scott to not associate with them officially. And he still links to them even now?

imho don't think it was part of the main community. isn't it a good feature of pseudonymous to be able to have looser affiliations, esp over ideas rather than group identities?

I guess community is ambiguous, what I meant is that it was an active part of the official subreddit that Scott was a moderator of. Scott was more frustrated that people had the gall to mention him than by people advocating genocide.

that's an absurdist overstatement, imo, mr paid shill for sneerclub.

This was a literal statement of fact and not an exaggeration lmao. He whined that it was unfair people were inconsiderate of his request to not tag him on reddit when they tagged him asking him to ban literal Nazis. Do you want screenshots?

No! No I don't! Combined with fact that he's taken down his own collected works and that the NYT is doxxing him that is an insane violation. How do you not understand this? This is exactly participation in the mob behaviour that is the bullshit around this!

a) who is actually a literal nazi? who actually identifies with being a literal nazi in 2020 vs just other people accusing them of such a thing b) it is hard to take a fucking side at any particular time in a culture war in a subreddit as mod. compare NYT editorial, FB

We’ve been telling you again and again this is not exaggeration, stop assuming this is hyperbole. Do you know what the 14 words are? "We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children," https://twitter.com/rationalwiki/status/1275504239947780099?s=21 …https://twitter.com/RationalWiki/status/1275504239947780099 …

RationalWiki @RationalWikiReplying to @selentelechia @RiotAtArbys @DanielleFongWhen the Culture War thread was on /r/slatestarcodex, literally the 14 Words would get 40+ upvotes and no mod action. Scott was an active poster and one of said mods. It is a statement of fact to say that Scott showed no problem with active white nationalism on his sub.1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes -
