imo: 0% chance this a short term problem engineering isn't that challenging, nor is the design of the masks too challening.

It adds a lot of cost. If the cloth works for most people, then hospitals use PAPR... Why would this be necessary? I guess you could just use a PAPR or a 3M respirator with goggles?pic.twitter.com/PGi1cvjoCe

i'm saying use the Tesla ventilators for testing online, and that Tesla has the PM2.5 apparatus for testing anyway so theoretically the means for doing this testing of products is already "in network"

🤷🏻♀️ @DanielleFongExcellent work@Tesla team! This is really great. They are using car parts to solve the first principles challenge of the ventilator, this way they know these parts well, they know the reliability of these parts, and they don't impac tthe supply chain of other manufacturers! https://twitter.com/Tesla/status/1246940326838718464 … pic.twitter.com/wdX4t91i0v1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -
I'm a fan of the 3M respirators... but cloth masks work 2 ways. 1 limit the number of droplets exhaled and inhaled. The droplets that do escape are slowed and don't travel as far. But. If you really want to go make masks, don't let me stop you! The Biodefense Tesla mode works with HEPA filtration. Lots of DIY PAPR projects. My 3M mask uses activated charcoal and a silicone fit.https://jalopnik.com/can-a-teslas-bioweapon-defense-mode-protect-you-from-th-1841918804 …

specifically I'm saying there should be a market in which the performance is reviewed and these are sold. I'm not saying necessarily I want to jump in the manufacturers game!

Seems unnecessary since the problem is people not wearing masks, not the masks. Let's not put up obstacles for mask makers:) If you don't believe me, look into how many times the US President has tried to coerce people into not wearing masks. Why? Because they mostly work.

i'm trying to solve this with superior product design

We need a clear and consistent message. Maybe cute fashion masks? IDK.

it's a combined design and marketing and advertising and message. imagine if it actually improved people's self expression, you know?
