Nope, not unless they have a fundamental understanding of Moore’s Law & The Law of Accelerating returns can they truly appreciate the growth & evolution of our tech

Moore's law is slowed! Frequency isn't gaining, and having higher circuit density is stalling out too. And software gets slower often -- N^2 algorithms abound. See @Jonathan_Blow for great rants /expositions on this.

I agree and disagree , in that i dont buy into Moores Law of thinking of science discovery. Vacines were discovered by accident when someone noticed women milking cows didnt get smallpox as much as non milkers. Pencillin discovered by accident in lab. Science progresses in steps

It could easily be another 1000 years before next big step , or could just as easily happen next week. First 4000 years of civilisation was static eneough, last 300 years been very exciting. Reckon gonna be static for next 20 to 40 years at least then any virtual world we want.

In my life time 40 years theres not much to note that feels like a massive step. Same car as my grandfather more or less. Same way to travel to holidays actually flights are slightly slower now. But A massive advancement in computer power is the big step of my lifetime.
