I'm not an expert, but that's not actually true. There are frameworks in econ for valuing that and similar resources. If you are interested I will ask my local expert for references that might be useful.

you're right that there are sections of economics that do this, but they're hilariously overwhelmed by the people who just use GDP credulously (which doesn't account for it at all) despite the fact that when GDP was invented there were numerous warnings against using it this way
