it's because it was determined impractical. Is not ebola. it's not 'containable' it's reached a large percentage of population. Thankfully it's not so severe, or civilization would be over. Contact tracing when you have tens of millions infected and more exposed is not worth it

that’s not true. contact tracing is still a great way to find people who have the disease and could be spreading it and could need help.

Even if that’s true it’s still a good thing to do each person that you discover that’s positive if you have a better way of finding who is positive dramatically reduces the amount of spread and damage and gives us information
