Right. An overload of information isn't a good reason to tune out that information entirely. Being able to know that an outbreak has happened e.g. in a nursing home or a similar community, even if you can only do best-effort tracing, seems critical to me.

Comparing South Korea (which successfully implemented contact tracing, though I think primarily through software) and Arizona cases, AZ has 28K cases and SK 12K cases. AZ has more, but same order of magnitude. (Timing is an important factor here but ignored for this example)
