Modern humans are broken in a very fundamental way. Our brains were not prepared for the feedback loops and constant dopamine hits of the Internet AT ALL.

Here is how I think modern humans are broken: Up to the recent 200 years, competitive personality traits have been key to our species survival & populated the earth. Now, to survive, before we rats destroy our island, we must value cooperative traits. We will fail.

I feel strongly about this topic so I will continue speaking.. We have crossed a threshold from ecosystem participant to ecosystem caretaker. The only competition left is who can consume resources the fastest. Earth is finite.

The pool of competitive possibilities left still seems pretty vast though, especially when you consider technology as extensions of self. For example, competition for human enhancement and modification may be in its infancy, but it may determine who’s fit to go beyond Earth.
