really don’t really down buy the markets affect nothing hypothesis. in January and February I had many conversations where people were not taking the coronavirus seriously because the market stayed up. The assumption was that they must be pricing pandemic risk. wall st propaganda

now most agree that retail investors are driving the pace of things. Trump says look at the stock price. that is his one indicator. as long as that’s up, he has votes from retirees.

Most people just own vangaurd or similar and DCA into total market funds. The day trading stuff is a sideshow.

See, again, I think that's mistaken. As @LAForeverHall would say, narrative matters most. If it drives trading on particular stocks, particularly those who have gone bankrupts, that has profound effects. If you round out retail trading, you're missing a huge amount of signal.
