Puzzling over social perceptions & terminology around learning for adults. Adults do plenty of learning, eg in the form of scholarship, research, reading, ‘interesting conversations’. But ‘adult education’ sounds remedial! Like your regular education fell short. Why is this?

Still skill and practice-focused, rather than knowledge focused. I think mastering a body of work or mastering a type of knowledge works similarly (or perhaps the skill is prediction), but it feels a bit like a modification of the current common use. Not necessarily a bad thing
