I don't get this at all. NYPD driving through a crowd is obviously brutal but why compare to the PLA when even China's official death count for the protest was 300? Or the third party estimates that landed ~2700?? The comparison is beyond specious.

Richard Ross for CBC news, Nicholas Kristof for NYT, Graham Earnshaw for Reuters who were all on the ground disagree. If you mean people who weren't there when you say "third party", then I can start to see the issue here. Even the US Embassy in Beijing cables disagree.

the US system is more of a pervasive, slow choke than a violet massacre, but it is in fact a similar injustice, with perhaps a nearly equal bodycount.
