does anyone know where aesthetic preferences come from? or like have a ballpark idea i'm thinking of the niche ones, the ones i assume everyone has (probably in addition to their mainstream ones)

my first crush (in preschool) was on a towheaded freckle-face with dumbo ears, though iirc i liked him bc he invited me to play X-men with him and his friends the only pet i've gotten to choose was the guinea pig equivalent

An interesting thing I noticed about my own preferences is that most women I find attractive or aesthetically interesting, regardless of their ethnicity or general attractiveness, have had a similar array of certain facial features. I guess that's what they call a "type"pic.twitter.com/HIv7tRHlr9

I think these facial characteristics are great at expressing my favorite emotions, such as curiosity, focus, determination, amusement, confidence/cockiness, playfulness, reflection. Make them look intense and enigmatic and many-layered, and even a bit intimidating.pic.twitter.com/LQOgmXRc5w
