I’ve seen claims that in total dark, human eye may be sensitive to single photons- but perceiving cosmic rays as visible flashes seems unlikely. flashes possible via varied eye conditions, sometimes symptom of retinal-detachment requiring med attention:https://www.health.harvard.edu/newsletter_article/Floaters_flashes_and_retinal_tears …

this was in great dark, wearing aviators. i don’t see why cosmic rays being percieved as flashes is unlikely in this scenario
