Many people don't realize that lots of homeless people, although certainly not all of them, made a choice at one point to live outside the bounds of what conventional society says are the limits to reality. There is a sense of freedom among the struggle that exists there.

Also before I forget, I asked the woman at the front desk how COVID19 has affected them. She said currently at 31% occupancy. Their normal rate for a Friday night is 64%. She said at one point they got to 0% occupancy. I managed to get a 10% discount but not as good as

3 months ago I made the decision to not get stuck inside but to be stuck outside. It was unconventional and there were certain things I could not foresee. I did not expect the closing of national parks which would have made this all easier if they weren't closed.

Today I have a long drive through the Nevada desert ahead of me. This desert killed many in years past who were doing the opposite journey to find gold in California. The war against indoor living continues and I will be victorious but the battle is lost. Eastward ho!

This is Donner Lake where a group of travelers heading west got snowed in during a brutal winter and resulted to cannabalism to survive.
