it really is. I have been poor for a long time, and since it became windowpane for me as an adult, I never cringed at my friends who lived out their lives as carpenters, fishermen, or NEETs. It was always the tryhards who thought they would become big through uni. so foolhardy.

I think there would be a lot less suffering if I could get people to lay down the delusion that there is some egalitarian utopia that anyone is seriously working towards. the facts are in: the police are corrupt, those in power don’t care. but what’s it to you?

many of my friends are far more bothered by living with their parents than they ever were about being "made men" or "changing the world". they dont even speak that language at all, and its good, that’s a nasty tongue anyways. they are happier for it for sure

our lives our limited, and life is short. finding acceptance for how the world is allows us to reframe the things that bother us so we can act effectively on what is real, not what is hoped for or imagined

I’m sorry but I’ve been on both ends of this scale. It really sucks to say this, but my in-laws come from a cop family. the only thing that trumps a police officer is another police officer. it’s best to avoid them as much as possible if you aren’t connected

I agree, do not trust cops.
