i definitely think we should *not* do that, but we should also no rule out geoengineering. actually an ice-age is quite nearly a possibility, and we should consider controlling it.

It has the same fundamental failing as what was done at the Wuhan lab: there's no limit to how much of the world it affects and it's not reversible. This is the equivalent of betting *all* of one's money in a single bet

not actually. you can use the kelly criterion here as elsewhere. in a time of great change, the only wrong move is to take no risk. a static strategy will surely perish.
