Nothing personal, but this is an extreme generalization of the type that was used to justify tinkering with coronavirus strains. "Humans have been performing genetic engineering for thousands of years" doesn't make the pandemic go away.

Also I don't know what "life is a gain function" means. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with the specific hazards of tampering with pathogens to make them more contagious and deadly.
