Do you think it’s possible that c19 has been around for a bit, but just mutated in fall of ‘19, hence the increase in mortalities (and thus attention)? I don’t any other reason for c19 being around earlier but not seeing uptick in deaths earlier.

Yes, the theory would be that mutation happened in Wuhan at either or both of the Wet Market / Biolab.
