I feel like as though I've missed something around him, not sure I get why some put him down. Is it the atheism thing? Or the SoCal ideas? I dunno, his writing isn't without fault, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't like it.

Mostly it's the weirdly overconfident condescension about a bunch of real bad ideas. I don't hate him or anything. I do dislike him, but I enjoy some of his work. But I would consider behaving like him a sign that I need to do some serious self-examination.

he's grown a lot. in his own writings he will, with a nice amount of irony, discuss the views of Eliezer circa some date or other. I think that's good
