THE MEDIA IS CORRUPT

Honestly, Danielle, if you're going to keep saying this you need to clarify what you mean. Do you mean specific media outlets—or inevitably journalism as a practice? Do you mean specific ethical missteps taken by journalists? If so, which ones, and can you cite examples?

Journalism is systematically corrupt in a way that is so tight that they do not fix their own problems. They cast out independent journalists who speak their minds. Only few can, within the system, & these are self moderated.

When you get to major media outlets like that, yeah, they are forced to partially be propaganda arms for the U.S. government basically in order to exist at all. They likely still do some good. But when you say 'the Media' you cast a wide net and it includes independent journalism

You can point out instances of bad/corrupt journalism all night Danielle; it’s not really adding much to your thesis That the bad/corrupt media gets into so many people’s brains is the problem. Good journalism also exists. It needs defending, signal boosting, funding, etc.

Yes! If anything, if we signal-boost the incredible achievements of the many journalists who have courage and intellectual integrity, that alone will suffice to put any bad actors in the industry to shame. The obvious difference of quality and virtue speaks for itself.

not actually. it is a far most systemic and pervasive problem. people simply do not research. it is a reactive, hyperactive, dismissive society. see what is happening with Bill Gates and Elon Musk and Peter Thiel as an example.

I am exactly talking about Peter Thiel. I am talking about Clearview AI. Corporatist techno-fascism is entire fascism. Vengefully accusing a "reactive society" of being reactive is itself simply another level of reactivity. It is inconsistent to regret the existence of regret.

Peter Thiel is not who you think he is. The mob is more fascist than he.

If we are legit talking about what I see as "the rabble" then I will remain agnostic and say they may be neck-and-neck. But nor is the rabble who you believe they are.

The media itself is rabble. Read the @balajis tweets I retweeted, come to your own conclusion, they are the "masters of morality" and they are literally killing themselves. Mean girls took over society & yes, that's a problem. They speak without knowledge, care, or responsibility

Again, I agree with you specific individuals in journalism, as in any industry, engage in behavior like this. Corporate and government interests make it extremely dangerous not 2comply with mandatory immorality. It HAS ruined people's lives. However the answer isn't 2 generalize.

no, there must be a vicious, decisive attack against moralizing and centralized control if we are to have *any* chance at survival. the journalists have shown themselves incapable of system critique. therefore it *must* come from outside. let *them* fight for credibility.
