This big new paper out of Harvard has the exact same problem (i.e. binary health outcome of survived/dead) that I complained about in this thread. Why is this happening?! https://twitter.com/jonst0kes/status/1255849026248941569 … https://www.belfercenter.org/publication/coronavirus-strategic-challenge-has-washington-misdiagnosed-problem …

@balajis has been talking and worrying about the long-term health effects of this for a while, but he's one of the few who's taking that angle seriously in a consistent way.https://twitter.com/balajis/status/1237508931770929152 …Jon Stokes added,
Balaji S. SrinivasanVerified account @balajisWhat are the long-term effects of COVID19? Some have a binary mental model: either you die, or you live & all is well. But with SARS & MERS, many patients had long-term respiratory issues. This paper urges follow-up imaging to see if COVID19 is similar. https://www.ajronline.org/doi/10.2214/AJR.20.22969 … pic.twitter.com/2iOAXrO2hvShow this thread1 reply 1 retweet 10 likesShow this thread
Replying to @jonst0kes @balajis
Like i've been saying, this virus causes a kind of pneumonia-aids. It hits the lungs, lives in nervous tissue, blood, attacks the immune system, hits reproductive tissue (testes, maybe ovaries) it's very very very bad.
