There were rumors, months ago, of people in Wuhan just straight up collapsing in the street. I'd sort of discounted those stories because the only people sharing them seemed to be very low credibility sources, but this report is making me wonder about those stories.

They were not just stories, but videos. There were at least three credible incidents of mask wearing people collapsing with seizures/stroke like symptoms. But in a city of 10M, 5000 people are going to have epilepsy anyway, so it is not easy to establish significance w/o data.

that's true. but the numbers started getting extreme. and then, radio silence, and china kicked journalists out.

China and the West are currently in a cold war. China does not trust Western propagandists to report in line with what China considers to be the best propaganda policy towards their own population. But all relevant info was on Lancet, social media and in intelligence reports.

Right. Well, to be perfectly honest, the western media is dumber than Chinese state propaganda.
