Last night I had a dream where someone was enthusiasticly explaining mathematics, how the formulas were actually codes to a reality & that maths is an actual language. I asked about pi & they proceeded to tell me about its secret meaning and I ofc don't remember

I think it is something about how flat or closed the universe you are in is.

well, in a flat universe, pi is 3.14159... but rebelling against "digital filters" pi might be closer to exactly √10 in a pinched universe, around a black hole, the length of a circle around the hole is less, like a cone, it could be <3.1459 in expanding universe could be >

yeah. pi^2 in a euclidean universe is very very close to 10, but not quite! so imaginably you have just a tiny amount of extra space to slip in some magic. at least this is my idea :D

this much space! 10 - pi^2 = 0.130395598910641381165509000123848864686300592759209373586...

I almost get it but not quite. Does pi describe the mechanics of the universe which can be used to predict or understand its behaviour?

i think it describes the relationship of a curve (1-d) around an area (2-d), which is related to how that area is shaped in the universe, how flat it is. for your consideration -- wrap paper around cones, slice em, make conic sections.

Ahh. Yeah, no wonder I didn't remember that part of the dream. I can't make sense of it lol. But thank you for explaining
