I used the same account when I started getting paychecks she had mild, reasonable restrictions on my spending until I was 17, after which she just made sure I was saving a bit each month she and dad even borrowed from me a few times, the year things were unusually tight

yeah I have recently realised that a lot of parents do this and do not reward the children with the space and time and love and trust and confidence they wanted to buy with it, and I don't know what is wrong with them.

I grew up in a chaotic home and my parents were not the best with money but they did raise all of us with the assurance that the money and possessions we owned were *ours*
