Apparently I'm actually less smart than collectively remembered from childhood testing (in all honesty the remembered number was a bit implausibly high) and my verbal IQ is more in the 145-150 range (based on records and a retest). Oddly this is quite reassuring.

Feynman was supposedly only 125, but he maxed out the second that he did well at and got in an argument about the meaning of words on a verbal part so
i'm really convinced it's a bad test.

the spatial questions, at least, to be more about how much time you're willing to dump into solving them than anything

maybe could be valuable w more specificity-- if you can match the test sections to specific domains, idk the vocabulary section seems fairly useless though tbh >_>

Honestly, lay opinions about IQ are so reliably bad that I've learned to discount anything anyone who hasn't actually studied the subject says about it. IQ is an imperfect tool, but it's less imperfect than anything else we have in this space and its flaws are well understood.

i mean, I'm a fan of the SMPY study, right? I think it's pretty great. But one of the results is that they found a whole other entire dimension of mechanical intelligence that was predictive of achievement & discipline the biggest problem is the attitude that aptitude is static.

i agree that basically it's a useful framework, I just really really want to build a better one for the next generation "the world is an odyssey" augmented reality education/game/art/communication platform I have been wanting to do (and was doing, before the pandemic...)

it was going to be a rather leisurely development cycle over 2020 which I was also working on super high density energy storage and vertical take off and landing personal electric air-cycles
at least now I have an audience and the $$ so I don't need to raise it
