I am supposed to be reading about Christian notions of sin and repentance for a reading group that starts in half an hour. Things I have talked about instead of reading: Sex and communication, fanfiction and the nature of character, general relativity and the nature of time.

"Sorry you're finding the reading challenging" "Oh it's not challenging, I just don't want to do it"

"But, we may ask, did not Luther himself come perilously near to this perversion in the understanding of grace? What about his Pecca fortiter, sed fortius fide et gaude in Christo?" Yes, that's exactly what I was thinking. We're so on the same page here.

I'm sure there are some very interesting things about Christianity and that if I could set aside my prejudices it would be a fascinating area of study. I'm looking forward to reading Dominion for example. But I don't think this was the reading to get me on board.
