I would really love a translation of this to non-metaphor too.
Can you elaborate on what you're thinking?
Maybe we can accelerate the opening up of our properly fed and watered rose very carefully.

western people are somewhat confined to thinking about individuals instead of the systems that they are a part of, create, and sustain. sorry to be an ass about it, but if you don't understand this, you won't understand anything i sayhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGN5DBpW93g …

I actually just watched that video fairly recently, at
@conways_law request.
To solve these sorts of problems, we definitely need systems thinking. I'm reasonably educated in this area.
Also spent many years working in semiconductor, on SPC & supply chain infrastructure.1 reply 1 retweet 2 likes -

I can see what you’re saying. Thank you. I think part of the issue is that I don’t think in hierarchies or boundaries. Why does “systems thinking” tend to go bigger instead of smaller? Person = rose (for now) Pedals = mind Stem = body To be continued. :)

mind and body are not separate, but western epistemology deems them such, which gives rise to many errors in thinking. (see: https://www.amazon.com/Mind-Nature-Necessary-Advances-Complexity/dp/1572734345 …) systems thinking doesn't go anywhere, it describes whatever you aim it to describe, it's a tool of your 'mind' (Being)

I’m not sure being hung up on the wester/eastern bit is going to serve our conversation well. We have not established that I’m western in my thinking. Nothing is separate. The pedals become separated from a rose when it they need to. Is a rose with a a bud still a rose??

This diverges from the real issue. the majority of the 350M people can survive this just fine. The arrangement of relationships we call government and economy may not. so then what next?
