Our physical bodies are merely patterns of energy we are sustaining. What is beyond these infinitesimal constructions of reality we call 'emotions' and 'bodies' and a 'universe'? The complete spectrum of energy of the universe and the Godhead.

I love this thread. There’s this rule in Peterson’s book. Pursue what is meaningful not what is expedient. I like that a lot and it got me out of the cancerous ideology that the meaning of life is to be happy or “feel good” but it’s easy to feel good right now but

It’s not at all sustainable, you can feel good with drugs, shitty food, casual sexual relationships but it won’t last and it snaps back. I find that pursuing meaningful things brings real joy. Trying to make the world a better place, providing for your family emotionally and

I don’t know how to or if it’s possible to transcend emotions at least for me even if I’m not completely successful at it. Aiming at being a person people can depend on is what truly gives me joy and tranquility. I feel like when I do things for my pleasure, it never ends well.

It's def possible to transcend emotions. At least temporarily and probably totally Change your pleasure to being a person that people can depend on and doing things that promote tranquillity and harmony. This is a facet of Buddhism, kinda Just thinking this way you are on track

Now that you say this I definitely see it. Because of this aim, on the days I feel defeated, I have no choice but to go with the motions of this pursuit. Therefor not allowing emotions to determine my actions. But more like observing them.

It's the distance between observer and emotions that you are creating. Cultivate that. Feel yourself as a separate entity from your thoughts and emotions. Observe. Watch. Listen. This is the first step on the way.
