I find Thyme to be a better replacement for Rosemary, and I prefer to substitute Grana Padano for parmesan (mostly because I'm not a fan of parmesan in the first place, and that works out well usually). Rosemary itself is best of course. Try growing it - it's fairly doable.

When I was a kid my parents decided to try growing rosemary. It killed everything it was put around. It grew massive, into a giant bush taller than the fence. We tried to kill it, tried depriving it of water, it would not stop So yes, definitely an easy plant to grow
