I was sitting here this morning, realizing this is the first year since 2007-- since I last lived in a sunny place-- where I don't have severe seasonal depression. And... wow I know this is an extreme suggestion. But if you suffer from SAD as bad as I did. Maybe consider moving.

I'm the same, I have severe SAD due to a lack of light up here in the north. Nothing helps with it except the sun. I'm completely different if I can get regular sunshine. But moving would mean completely moving countries, that's definitely something on my mind for the future tho.

When I couldn't move, taking little trips to sunny places in the winter was so healing. I hope you can at least find ways to do this, maybe it'll be enough for you too

if you can be outside for about 2 hours, even up north you will find a lot of resonance with nature. avoid avoid avoid screens at night and LED lights!

Nature is great but there are many weeks, maybe months even, during winter and autumn here when the sun hides behind the clouds and then it's pitch-black so even staying outside doesn't do much. It's been esp. hard without snow this year I think.

I know, I live in Halifax, and have lived in Portland -- you have to lean in to the winter to get in resonance with the earth -- it is very challenging in the high north and south.
