Actually, it seems like a troll army solider. Not a smart one!

Engaging with these conversations at all mostly just ends up signal boosting them (I'm getting them in my feed)https://twitter.com/visakanv/status/1199801133453041664 …

Visakan Veerasamy @visakanvIn this AU, quote-tweeting bad takes is seen as tacky and cringe. People whisper "bro, you signal-boosted a bad take" at each other, and respond with "o shit, my bad, thanks for looking out". Friends don't let friends QT bad takes http://visakanv.com/blog/bad-takes/Show this thread2 replies 1 retweet 2 likes -

We are getting signal attenuated hardcore, so we have to use a lot of signal to get out

yeah I'm measuring a (new) 20m delay on all my tweets and notifications and crazy keyword and link based filtering on for example WHO meetings. also all kinds of other weird stuff. look for "danielle fong coronavirus" for example. it's super insidious and frustrating.

Another way to measure is to reply to a popular tweet and then check analytics for view numbers. Check back in an hour and if the person who posted before you and another after you have lots of likes but you only have 10 views you know something is fishy. Censure Algorithm

this is an excellent explaination! This “tell” is what tipped me off to this!

Interesting approach, using analytics. That being said, here's what I see with "Danielle Fond coronavirus".. so maybe the filtering/censor is location-based?pic.twitter.com/nrMtnLMJFX

it’s not, it’s on every location I tried. I had many tweets on coronavirus with 100+ likes, so those *should* come up, right?

I don't know much about Twitter as my expertise is Google. But any algorithm has the potential to use location, words, names, subject, account etc as filters. I would suggest Twitter has either flagged your account in some limiting way or in general has introduced corona filters.

it's both. but what's super insidious is that I'm not even said to be shadowbanned. it's latency throttling my tweets! makes conversations extremely awkward.

Maybe the latency is due to issues with high load on Twitter's systems?
